Math Without Walls: Ideas For Exploring Math Outside the Classroom

There are so many benefits to getting students exploring Math and Numeracy outside of the classroom.  Whether you are preparing for "Spring Fever," wanting your students to have more movement and fresh air in their day or have a class full of nature enthusiasts, doing Math activities outside is a great way to enrich learning.  The activities shared in this workshop don't require you to be an outdoor education expert.  They require only the clothing and equipment that students regularly wear and use for their daily learning and Recess times.  They are easily adaptable to any outdoor (and indoor) environment, math topic or learning context (including remote learning).  Participants will leave the workshop with some ideas that can be used right away, as well as some resources to explore when you are ready to take your outdoor experiences deeper and furthur afield.
