Equity-Rethinking Engagement, Student Voice, and Authentic Learning

(This session is inspired by the Summer Institute Session and some of the material will overlap.)

What does it look like, feel like, and sound like when our students are truly engaged...when we are truly engaged?  According to Ellin Oliver Keene," we remember and reapply more effectively when we are engaged.  And if students are more likely to learn effectively when engaged, we need to discuss how we can help them find those sweet spots."  Come to explore and discuss what it means to be engaged and how we can facilitate engagement for our students.  We will draw on the work of Kristi Mraz, Pernille Ripp, Ellin Oliver Keene, Jennifer Serravallo, and Leyton Schnellert as we explore this topic.
