Blended Class Models

Participants will review 3 blended learning instructional models - station rotation, flipped classroom and playlist. They will examine the purpose, role and design of each model. The session will include time for breakout room sessions where participants will work alongside Surrey Schools Blended Learning Support Teachers to create their own station rotation, flipped classroom or playlist. Participants are encouraged to bring a lesson sequence or unit to redesign for a blended learning classroom. These models can also be employed in traditional face to face classes.

    Michael is a Secondary teacher with a focus in Chemistry, Junior Science, and Math. He is interested in using argument driven inquiry and vertical spaces as tools to support student learning.

    Michael is passionate about finding innovative ways to incorporate digital tools. He wishes to inspire students’ interest in STEM by connecting the bridge between the curricular competencies taught in class with modern technological applications.

    Outside of teaching, Michael enjoys playing video games on PC, weightlifting, and hiking.
